Journal of the Indian Anthropological Society (JIAS) is published by the Indian Anthropological society since the year 1966 to encourage scholarly discourse in anthropology and allied disciplines. JIAS follows a strict double-blind peer review policy and publication ethics. The rigorous process followed ensures an impartial evaluation of submitted manuscripts for publication.
The Journal is presently indexed with NISCAIR, New Delhi; Indian Documentation Service; Anthropological Index Online to Current Periodicals; and Sociological Abstract; Royal Anthropological Institute, UK, and EBSCO Publishing Inc. This journal has been enlisted in the University Grants Commission (UGC) Consortium for Academic and Research Ethics (UGC-CARE)(under Social Sciences) till the date UGC decides to continue.
